Tetrad Takeover

Tetrad are filling the gallery spaces of Attenborough Arts Centre's with participatory workshops, performances and talks which YOU ARE INVITED TOO!

We will document and display the activity which has filled the galleries, collecting traces which will accumulate as an an evolving exhibition throughout the week. Anyone is welcome to come and take a look at our evolving exhibition as well as the events below: 

Monday 16th:
THE BIG LAUNCH (7.30-9.30pm)
You're all invited to our big launch of something top secret!
Refreshments will be available so come and share a tipple with us and celebrate 12 months of Tetrad action!

Tuesday 17th: 
GIANT TETRALUDE JAM (6-9pm)
Come and take part in or observe our 3hr long Giant Tetralude!
A TETRALUDE IS AN IMPROVISATION SCORE.
A series of instructions that an individual or group can improvise and experiment with using movement, drawing, objects and voice, within a research or performance space. Come and play in a collective experiment!

Wednesday 18th:

GIANT TETRALUDE JAM (1-4pm)

Friday 20th: 
EVALUATION OF 2016 AND OPEN FUTURES WITH EDWARD BOOTT (6-7pm) 

GALLERY OPEN for everyone to view the exhibition of collected traces that will have evolved and accumulated throughout the TETRAD TAKE OVER (7-9pm)

Throughout the week Tetrad will be hosting 1-1's. If you're an artist or someone whose just interested in the arts and fancy a chat we will be hosting 30 minute sessions, where you can share work and get feedback, chat about ambitions and the future. Or just help us decide which is the best biscuit to dunk in tea.

Us & Them is a scratch night with a twist which brings together people who are excited and inspired by innovative, bold and thought provoking performance. 

Experience developing performances by Guest Artists within the fields of comedy, dance, theatre, live art and multimedia performance alongside a scratch work by a member of Tetrad. All this accompanied by Tetrad's trademark unconventional hosting methods using improvisation games, scores and sketches to segue from one performance to the next. 
In this scratch night with a difference, Tetrad will be bringing together artists from East Midlands and across the UK for a truly memorable evening!

Tetrad presents: Here & Now

Here & Now is an open weekend of live performance, music, film, workshops and discussions brought to you by local artists to celebrate diversity in performance and to explore how to begin and sustain an arts practice. Here & Now is an opportunity to encounter local artists and hear about how they make and work. You might kick off the weekend with dancing some unfamiliar moves followed by chatting to Tetrad over lunch, co-writing with a group upstairs, sliding into a one-to-one performance, asking a question in an artist talk, catching a film screening outside, taking a seat in the main hall for a live performance and ending the day chilling out to music in the cafe!

Join us for the whole weekend or drop-in to workshops and performances as much as you can!



Tickets are available to reserve a seat for the evening performances and for access to the full day of Here & Now activities on both Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th.

Here & Now day activities including workshops, film screenings, talks and performances will be available to those with tickets and open on a first come, first serve basis so make sure to arrive in good time. 

All Here & Now events are PAY-WHAT-YOU-DECIDE which means you don’t have to pay until you have taken part in the workshop or seen the show. 
Please be aware, every penny you give will go directly to the artists involved so please do give generously. Thank you!

Just Us - Katherine & Jack

A weekend of double bills from Tetrad collective members a range of new fresh work or in development established pieces. 

Katherine’s choreographic work is concerned with the fragility of time and interrelationships, seeking to present situations of being and acting together. She re-imagines relational moments involving movement, voice, improvisation, writing and score-making. 

Jack combines elements of comedy, storytelling, low-fi technology, audience interaction and physicality to create informal and contemplative work, often autobiographically inspired. Jack is an associate artist with In Good Company. Please note some of the language / themes may cause offence.

Just Us - Daniel & Lewys

A weekend of double bills from Tetrad collective members a range of new fresh work or in development established pieces.

Daniel is a comedian, writer and creative producer, whose left field comedy intends to explore the boundaries that comedy can boarder with other art forms. 

Lewys is an interdisciplinary dance artist based in the UK. His practice spans dance, comedy, visual arts and theatre, working with international artists. Lewys dance style is concerned with release and improvisation.

Tetrad Presents Square One

Tetrad presents: Square One, an open workshop day for performance makers.

Square One, arise, emerge, origin, starting point, birth, launch, outset, unfolding, debut, premiere, day one, kick-off, commencement, very beginning, genesis, start, first things first, foreword, preamble, entrance....how to begin?

Square One is a workshop day in which Tetrad will guide a group of local performance makers through a day of practical experiments, taking a look at different starting points and ways of generating solo and ensemble performance material. 
Each Tetrad artist, Lewys Holt, Daniel Nicholas, Jack Britton and Katherine Hall, will be drawing on their area of expertise in dance, comedy, improvisation and theatre to offer a day of interdisciplinary playful experiments to inspire and encourage the group of performance makers to continue making their own work. 
The series of experiments will be led in an open environment in the German Expressionist Gallery at New Walk Museum where the visiting public are welcome to observe the groups day of workings.
