We are pleased to announce the artists who will be sharing their work-in-development at our next Us & Them event!
Title: Cat Got My Tongue (I Hope It Comes Back)
Devised and Performed by: Kirsty Mealing
A semi-autobiographical love story between a body and her elusive voice separated by Social Anxiety. Finding herself lost for words in a busy bar, a woman steps into very large shoes to get them back.
Improvised and Performed by Maud Lannen
Through a mix of choreography and improvisation, Maud Lannen merges both the ridiculous and the tragic in the articulation of her subjects’ unconscious feelings and desires. Lannen’s work draws on that silent, solitary dialogue with self through the other; all that is at play and – furthermore – at stake, all that is invisible, when you, me, them interact.
Title: 1.9: Leaps of Faith
Devised and Performed by: Jack Britton
1.9: Leaps of Faith climbs bravely into the memories of a young man traversing the cityscapes of his hometown. As nostalgia for the days of callused hands, weightlessness and well worn trainers are explored; he attempts to recapture the feelings first felt when taking his leap of faith into Parkour.
Title: Young Hearts
Devised and Performed by: Rob Throup and Kellie Goudie
This show follows the daily life of a lady suffering from the fairly late stages of Alzheimers disease. She lives in a house on her own, full of clutter and titbits. We observe her struggling with mundane tasks. But along with it we see her relive her younger years.
